Catalogue services

Update GeoNetwork Enterprise 2020.5.5 (release notes)

• New: GeoCat Enterprise basemap available for use with catalogue services see (configuration instructions)

• New: Configure how to extract the WMS layer name from metadata online resources URL for :Add to map and thumbnail generation functionality.

  We recommend users of the HNAP schema configure the new :URL parameter with the layer namesetting with the value :kbd:layers.

iso19139.ca.HNAP:

• New: Revised user interface and workflow for defining OGC:WMS online resources. The HNAP convention for these online resources is to append &layer=<name> to the GetCapabilities URL.

• New: For OGC:WMS online resources that have appended &layer=<name> information visitors can now use :Add to map to show the online dataset.

• New: For OGC:WMS online resources that have appended &layer=<name> information editors can now generate a thumbnail.

Mapping services

Update GeoServer Enterprise 2021.3 (release notes)

• New: Internationalization support for contacting information, mapping services and styling

  Internationalization of title and abstract is available for all layers including layer groups and WMS Root layer.

• Fix: GEOS-10282 GeoServer translations files incorrectly decoded assuming UTF-8 causing translation files like GeoServerApplication_de.properties leading characters represented as question marks

Data services

Spatial database:

• Upgrade to PostgresSQL 13 (release notes)

• Upgrade to PostGIS 3 (release notes)

• Mapping services customers are now advised to update connection parameters to use prepared statements, on the fly geometry simplification for best performance. These settings allow map rendering take advantage of the TWKB encoding when requesting a geometry simplified using pixel size.
