Overview

The Community Edition of GeoCat Bridge is free to use for everyone.

When you install the software and do not activate it, Bridge will automatically add a GeoCat Live Demo data space configuration, which may be used to try out the publishing features of GeoCat Bridge.

No trial license required

In contrast to the old GeoCat Bridge for ArcMap, the Community Edition does not require a trial license.
In fact, GeoCat BV does not even offer trial licenses for GeoCat Bridge for ArcGIS Pro anymore.

Free Features

Currently, the Community Edition allows you to do the following:

  • Publish maps and metadata to a demo data space.
  • Preview generated SLD styles from ArcGIS Pro layers.
  • Add and configure your own data spaces.
  • View the contents of GeoServer workspaces (layers, group layers, and styles).
  • Add GeoServer WMS (group) layers to your map.

For a general overview of all the included features and their behavior, please read the previous chapters.

Info

In a future release, the Community Edition will also allow you to search (geo)data in your data spaces by leveraging the GeoNetwork metadata search functionality. You will then be able to add data to your map directly from the catalog service, provided that the data type is supported by ArcGIS Pro.

The Community Edition has the following limitations:

  • You cannot publish maps or metadata to your own data spaces.
  • You cannot remove or create GeoServer workspaces.
  • Generated style files (SLD) cannot be saved to disk.

To unlock these features, you need to purchase a subscription and activate the full version of GeoCat Bridge.
