One Click Data Publishing

Publishing metadata and data layers with Bridge to GeoNetwork opensource catalogue server and GeoServer WMS server [1] is very easy:

  • Create a ESRI ArcMap document with the layers to publish and configure the layers symbology
  • Configure the metadata properties of the layers (either using ArcCatalog ESRI ISO editor or in Bridge [2])
  • Click Publish in Bridge to get your metadata and data layers published in your servers

Metadata publishing

Bridge publishes layer metadata to GeoNetwork opensource catalogue server. You can use ArcCatalog ESRI ISO editor to fullfil the metadata or just fill the metadata properties panel in Bridge [2].

The metatada panel require a minimum subset of metatada properties to create valid ISO19139 metadata. Bridge Premium extends the metadata panel to require aditional properties for INSPIRE/Dutch geography 1.2 profile metatada.

Bridge also allows save metadata files on your local drive so you can do a manual publishing to the server if you want.

Data publishing

Bridge supports multiple formats for vector and raster layers depending on license type. Supported data layers are published to GeoServer, a high perfomance opensource compliant WMS 1.1.1 server [3].

The symbology of the layers is exported to Style Layer Descriptor (SLD), an OGC standard to allow user-defined symbolization and coloring of geographic feature in WMS services.

Bridge also allows save GeoServer configuration files on your local drive so you can do a manual publishing to the server if you want.

Layer renderers

ArcMap supports very powerful symbolizers that is not always possible to publish exactly in GeoServer due to limitations on Style Layer Descriptor (SLD) symbolizers. GeoServer supports very nice extensions to SLD, that Bridge uses to produce more professional symbolizers.

We try to do the best and continiously optimize the symbolizers created by Bridge.
